Preparatory work
For the conversion by Akira Nakai, our Porsche 964 first had to be prepared and made ready. We implemented a wide range of measures for this, with the active support of our partners. Thanks to the close collaboration of everyone involved and a precisely coordinated schedule, the vehicle was ready for the conversion on time.
In the following sections, we would like to show you some impressions from this intensive preparation phase.
Body Kit
On October 19th, we received the delivery of the body kit and rear wings from Akira Nakai via air freight. The components arrived on schedule and undamaged at our location in Switzerland. The moment of delivery was nonetheless special for us – almost more wonderful than Christmas – as it marked a significant milestone for the upcoming conversion.
Provision
To ensure Akira Nakai had a properly prepared vehicle for the modifications, various preparatory tasks had to be carried out beforehand. These included the professional dismantling of selected original parts to enable Akira Nakai to install the RWB body kit.
Chassis installation
To give the RWB SWISS #1 optimal driving characteristics, a KW Clubsport suspension was installed. To ensure roadworthiness and to allow driving over small obstacles, such as curbs, an HLS (Hydraulic Lift System) was also integrated into the front axle.
Engine overhaul
The heart of the Porsche 964 – the engine – was completely removed, disassembled down to the smallest detail, and subjected to a comprehensive overhaul. All components were carefully inspected, repaired, or replaced as needed. This complete engine rebuild created a solid and durable foundation for the further development of the vehicle.
interior
To give the vehicle a coherent and authentic RWB look inside as well, the entire interior was redesigned and rebuilt. Every detail was carefully planned and coordinated with the overall concept. The result is an interior that reflects the uncompromising appearance of the vehicle and makes the RWB concept tangible even in the cockpit.
paintwork
To give the RWB a perfect shine and flawless surface, all components of the body kit were expertly prepared and painted. In addition, the entire body was repainted. Each component was processed with the utmost precision and extensive craftsmanship, ensuring that the color, surface quality, and overall appearance are perfectly matched.
Parts certificate
In order for the RWB SWISS #1 to be registered with the Champion Wing, the body kit and the Champion Wing underwent a material and parts test under the expert preparation of Yves Meyer and his team at Drift Force in the DTC (Dynamic Test Center).
The RWB Body Kit and the Champion Wing have successfully passed the tests and received an official parts and material certificate.
This is an absolute novelty and is certainly unique in this form in European countries.
