From dream to project

It all began with a deep fascination and a grand dream. We mustered the courage to write Akira Nakai a letter – without suspecting that he would actually reply. But the unimaginable happened: Nakai answered us and informed us that he would build the RWB Porsche Swiss No. 1 for us. A unique, magnificent, and almost unbelievable opportunity.

From the very beginning, we viewed this project as a true family endeavor and divided the tasks among ourselves. You can find out more in the "Team RWB Swiss" section.

We are overjoyed to be able to realize this project – an exciting, educational and unforgettable experience that will bring us even closer together as a family.

Base - Porsche 964

Base vehicle: Porsche 911 (Type 964) Carrera 4
Year of manufacture: 1989
Origin: Swiss vehicle
Transmission: 5-speed manual transmission
Drive: All-wheel drive (Carrera 4)
Body style: Coupé

Special features - Porsche 964

The Porsche 964 was produced from 1988 to 1994 and, with a total production run of 63,762 units, is one of the rarer 911 models. In comparison, its predecessor, the Porsche 930 (1975–1989), saw a total production of 198,496 units, while its successor, the Porsche 993 (1994–1998), was produced with 68,881 units.

The Porsche 964 was produced in various model variants:

Carrera 2 (Coupé, Convertible, Targa): 35,571 pieces
Carrera 4 (Coupé, Convertible, Targa): 26,733 pieces
Turbo (3.3 & 3.6): 5,084 units
RS models: 3,113 units
Speedster: 936 units

Due to its limited production run, classic design, and technical advancements over the 930, the 964 is a highly sought-after model among collectors and enthusiasts. It combines the character of the classic 911 with modern improvements, including an aerodynamically optimized design, power steering, and ABS.

The RWB SWISS #1 is based on a solid and well-maintained 964 Carrera 4 - an excellent basis for individual customization by Akira Nakai.
